Other areas we serve
Organised by altitude, because that is what matters
Nearly every roofing problem in the Blue Mountains tracks back to how high up the ridge the house sits. The settlements run in a line along the Great Western Highway and the railway, national park falling away on both sides, climbing from about 163 metres at Glenbrook to about 1,065 metres at Blackheath. Frost, fog, moss and snow arrive progressively as you go west.
So this list is ordered by height rather than alphabetically. Find your suburb and you will find the fault pattern we see there most.

Lower mountains — roughly 160 to 380 metres
Warmest, driest and busiest. No meaningful frost, but hot summers, strong ultraviolet on roof coatings, and bush-interface blocks on every ridge and gully edge. Mostly post-war and later stock: fibro, brick veneer, concrete and terracotta tile, with Colorbond on the newer builds.
- Glenbrook — about 163 m
- Blaxland — about 234 m
- Yellow Rock — up to about 245 m
- Mount Riverview — about 270 m
- Warrimoo — about 273 m
- Sun Valley — a semi-rural valley pocket
- Valley Heights — about 310 m
- Winmalee — about 310 m
- Springwood — about 371 m
Mid mountains — roughly 450 to 770 metres
The transition belt. Frost becomes a regular winter event, canopy closes in, rainfall rises, and shaded southern pitches start growing moss and lichen in earnest. Deep gullies on both sides of the ridge mean heavy leaf and bark load almost everywhere.
- Faulconbridge — about 450 m
- Linden — about 526 m
- Woodford — about 609 m
- Hazelbrook — about 675 m
- Lawson — about 732 m
- Bullaburra — about 769 m
Upper mountains — roughly 870 metres and above
Genuine cold. Frost on most winter mornings, two or three settled snowfalls in a typical season, fog that keeps a roof wet for days, and the highest rainfall on the ridge. Freeze-thaw cycling is the dominant cause of roof failure here, and heritage conservation areas constrain material and colour through several of these towns.
- Wentworth Falls — about 867 m
- Leura — about 985 m
- Katoomba — about 1,017 m
- Mount Victoria — about 1,043 m
- Medlow Bath — about 1,050 m
- Blackheath — about 1,065 m
What we do at every one of them
Roof repairs, roof restoration, roof replacement, metal and Colorbond roofing, gutter repair and replacement, storm and emergency repairs and roof inspections and reports.
If your suburb is not on the list but you are on the mountains, ring anyway — the boundaries of a service area are less interesting than whether we can get a ladder to your roof. (02) 4703 5000, or send the quote form and we will come back to you. More about how this works.
